ID ME NOW
Fingerprinting Program

An Introduction to the Program

Child Protection Education of America has purchased the latest technology to provide parents with a product that would be useful to law enforcement agencies if a child is missing and would help identify that child.

CPEA is proud to announce its “ID ME NOW” program. Using state-of-the-art digital technology, the we can now provide to parents digital fingerprint scans and photographs of their children.

The scanned fingerprints will be forensic-quality, a term defining law enforcement’s ability to accurately read the print. Along with the scans, CPEA will also be providing written safety materials to support the prevention aspect of the program.

Child Protection Education of America purchased the technology from a Pennsylvania company called Sentry Technologies, Inc. This product is used by many law enforcement agencies across the nation.

“After reviewing many products, this fingerprinting technology is far superior to anything else we found,” said Hilary Sessions, Executive Director for CPEA. “We are proud to be able to provide this service to every child and community in the country.”

The fingerprint card produced in the “ID ME NOW” program not only contains the fingerprint scans and a digital photograph of a child, but it also supplies instructions on how to perform a DNA collection.

Areas are provided on the card so parents can include important information such as date of birth, hair and eye color, and distinguishing marks.

There is a dental chart on the back of the card that can be filled out as well as a section that allows parents to record important contact numbers should their child ever become missing. Finally, the card contains tips on what to do if your child is missing.

Child Protection Education of America also will provide a 9”x12” envelope in which to store the fingerprint card. This envelope contains a checklist of other important information that should remain with the fingerprint card. That information includes a recent color facial photo of the child, a recent full-length photo, doctor’s names and numbers, dentist’s names and numbers, and any other important information a parent feels would be necessary.

CPEA recommends that the checklist be updated annually, especially for younger children. However, fingerprints never change so there is no need to ever have your child fingerprinted again once our machine produces the digital prints.

Why ID ME NOW?

There are so many things a parent can do to help protect their children — organizing block parent programs in neighborhoods, volunteering for absentee reporting systems in schools, or just teaching
children what to do in certain perilous situations. But it doesn’t guarantee that a child will be safe.

The ID ME NOW Fingerprinting Program records important information about your child — information law enforcement will need if your child should ever be missing. The card stays with the parent so he or she can immediately give the information to law enforcement should it ever be needed. The program is also a great way to introduce and remind your child about safety tips they should keep in mind when dealing with strangers, the Internet, and abduction situations. If children are familiar, with these techniques, through reminders and role-playing with parents, they are less likely to find themselves in a dangerous situation.

We at CPEA hope that you never have to use this card beyond going over the safety tips found on the back with your child. But we also believe it is an important resource to have if you ever do need it.

ID ME NOW because you can’t fingerprint them later.

Sponsoring a Fingerprinting Event

Child Protection Education of America is looking for sponsors for fingerprinting events from a wide range of business partners – from retail and warehouse stores to restaurants, from malls to car dealerships. CPEA will also set up at special events, like health fairs and company picnics, where large numbers of people might attend.

We will set up our fingerprinting technology at your business or event and fingerprint children for free. It is an excellent promotional tool and a great way to attract more customer traffic. Events focus on creating more awareness about the missing children issue and promoting your business.

There are also opportunities for businesses to offer coupons as sponsors or sub-sponsors of events.

Sponsorship of a fingerprinting event is simple. Call CPEA at 813-626-3001 and ask about our program. We will be happy to discuss sponsorship opportunities with you.
