FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 19, 2003
Free
fingerprinting services offered at weekend Print-a-thon
Child Protection Education of America will offer free fingerprinting and safety information during its National Missing Children Day Print-a-Thon, May 24-26 at Lindell Motors of Tampa, 3900 W. Kennedy Blvd.
Times for the event are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Monday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
In addition to hosting the event,
Lindell Motors of Tampa will donate $50 for every vehicle sold over that
weekend.
The dealership will also be presenting CPEA with a new color-wrapped van Friday,
May 23. Lindell made the van available to the charity at cost and Color
Reflections produced the wrap at a discount. “This van makes it easier for us
to move our digital ID ME NOW systems around the area,” said Vince DiNova,
executive director for CPEA. “Also, with the special wrapping, it will
provide CPEA with a mobile billboard that people will instantly recognize.”
During its ID ME NOW fingerprinting events, CPEA uses state-of-the-art digital technology that provides parents with a high-stock card containing a child’s digital photograph, all ten fingerprints, and simple DNA collection instructions. The card is part of a packet that contains safety brochures and a checklist of other important information that parents should keep on hand in case they ever need it.
Additional sponsors for the National Missing Children Day Print-a-Thon include Buy Owner, which will be donating $1 for every child fingerprinted.
CPEA is a national nonprofit missing children organization based in Tampa. The organization assists parents and law enforcement officers involved with missing children cases by offering free photograph distribution. The charity also offers safety education events, including fingerprinting using the ID ME NOW fingerprinting program.
CPEA is the second largest missing children organization in terms of the number of registered cases in the country. For more information about CPEA, call 1-866-USA-CHILD, or visit our Web site at www.find-missing-children.org.
