Ball, concert headliners Foghat to benefit local nonprofit
Barney’s of Brandon and Child Protection Education of America, Inc. (CPEA) are proud to announce the “Leather & Denim Biker Ball,” April 17, from 7 p.m. to midnight. The ball will benefit CPEA, a national nonprofit missing children’s organization based in Tampa.
The ball’s venue is the Crowne Plaza Tampa at Sabal Park, 10221 Princess Palm Ave. Individual tickets are $50, and VIP individual tickets cost $250 with 100 percent of the sales benefiting CPEA.
Headlining the event is the blues-rock band Foghat, recording artists of Top 40 hits like “Slow Ride,” and the Top 40 album “Foghat Live,” which includes the popular “Fool for the City.”
“This is an unusual event for Foghat. We normally don’t play smaller venues like this, so it’s a unique opportunity. It’s your chance to get up close and personal with ‘The Hat,’” said the band’s drummer Roger Earl. Foghat will be available to meet with fans following their performance and will be autographing items for auction.
The Foghat concert is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. In addition to the concert, the ticket price includes a full dinner buffet. Also available will be a cash bar, a cigar bar, and caricaturists and photographers. A portion of the sales from these vendors goes to benefit CPEA.
Prior to the ball’s conclusion, a per-chance drawing will be held for a Suzuki Volusia 800 motorcycle donated by Barney’s of Brandon and valued at $6,599. Ticket sales for the drawing are limited to 2,500 tickets and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit CPEA.
Sponsors for the Leather & Denim Biker Ball include: Barney’s of Brandon, 102.5-The Bone, Buddy’s Home Furnishings, Born to Ride TV, John MacKay, and Crowne Plaza Tampa at Sabal Park.
Child Protection Education of America, Inc., is a national nonprofit missing children organization that assists parents, and law enforcement officers involved with missing children cases, by offering free photograph distribution. In addition to its fingerprinting services, the charity also offers safety education events, including speaking engagements.
